My Motherby Rula Zein-Iddin on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 10:09am ·

You embraced me

You loved me

You nurtured me

You challenged me

To explore new boundaries

To never give up

To stand-up for what is right

To be kind, honest, generous & tenacious

When I was weak you made me strong

When I fell down you picked me up

When I gave up on myself you believed in me

When I cried you wiped my tears

My love for you cannot be measured

Rest assured that you have left your imprint

I remember you every day and hour

On a journey that continues without you

I miss you in every way

But for each & every passing day

I try harder

Push further

And dig deeper

You taught me well

And for that I am forever grateful

You were my best friend, confidante and wise advisor

My Mother. My heart and soul.

May you rest in peace

For you are now free to soar even higher.

This is a beautifully written poem! It truly engulfes the essence of being a mother in its core. I found it so soothing reciting it!

This poem is so heartwarming. I felt the emotion of the writer while I was reading it. Just like you, my mother matters to me a lot. I believe all of us here see mothers as the most precious gifts we shouldn't take for granted. While they are still here, let's make them feel special and give back all the things they did to us when we were young. Your mother may not be here right now, but I'm pretty sure she's still looking after you.
